Income Tax Forms

Income Tax Forms - The forms used to complete an income tax return. Many specific forms are often needed to calculate and present a taxpayer's taxes due. The completed documents must be placed in the proper order and submitted to the IRS and other state or city taxing authorities.

The forms typically consist of a few "main pages" with many supporting schedules, statements, and worksheets. For Federal income taxes, the main pages are pages one and two of Form 1040.

Schedules A through R commonly must be attached. Statements detailing information on the "main pages" or schedules often must also be included. Additionally, there are a large number of separate forms that, in certain circumstances, must be filed with the main forms.
